We recently got to hang out with Kayla of Plum Pretty Decor & Design. Kayla is so sweet, extremely talented, and very passionate about home decor. And ya'll her house is AH-mazing - every detail is completely gorgeous and definitely magazine-worthy. Kayla is an up and coming interior designer in the Triad area and we just know big things are in store for her! In addition to interior design, Kayla rehabs old and outdated furniture and sells that, along with vintage treasures at antique markets throughout the year. Some of her bigger shows are Luckett's Spring Market and City Farmhouse. We managed to ask Kayla a few questions while we were there and made sure to grab a ton of pictures. Read below to find out a little more about her!
TGDM: How would you describe your style?
Plum Pretty: I would say my style is simple and fresh with that cozy and functional farmhouse feel. I love using antiques and industrial pieces in my design to provide a timeless look that will never go out of style. Taking old pieces and giving them new life and purpose provides such a personal touch to any space and truly gives that feeling of “home.” I believe a house needs to be both beautiful and functional and this is where you find that feeling of comfort and love in your home.
TGDM: What are some of your favorite pieces to decorate with?
Plum Pretty: Some of my favorite pieces to decorate with are of course antique and industrial finds. But more specifically I love using old book, old frames, old bottles, farmhouse tables, jute rugs, and any type of old architectural piece.
TGDM: Why are you excited about our upcoming show?
Plum Pretty: I am beyond excited about The Gray Door Market’s show because North Carolina needs a show like this is going to be. I travel all over to attend shows where other vendors share a passion and a vision for antiques and vintage items. When you have a show where not only the producers have this passion but each and every vendor also you know it is going to be amazing! Oh and Did I mention I have a slight obsession with Llamas and Alpacas. It is my dream to own an Alpaca farm one day and this show is on a Llama farm and vineyard. So The Gray Door Market had me at Llama’s and wine.
Just gorgeous isn't it?! She even has a beautiful dog that just fits right in! We are so excited to have Kayla as one of our spotlight vendors for our pop-up show this September! We fell in love with her booth when we saw her at Liberty last year, so we know she will have a beautiful set up at our show! If you would love to sell alongside Kayla, send in your application today! Spaces are filling up quickly!
